General Accountabilities 

· Direct accounting team in short- and long-term planning, setting goals and strategies, developing departmental policies and procedures, regulating interpretations and interface, and ongoing evaluation of operational effectiveness. 

· Manage daily activities of the accounting department. 

· Provide financial analysis statements including monthly balance sheets, income statements, cash flows statements, and actual to budget and last year variance analysis. 

· Monitor fiscal performance and looks for variances or trends. 

· Resolve problems referred by managers and provide policy and regulatory interpretations as needed. 

· Maintain responsibility for the fiscal integrity of all financial reporting and operations. 

· Provide historical data and projections as required for budget development and planning. Plan, develop, and administer departmental budget. 

· Direct preparation of budgets and review budget proposals. 

· Prepare and regulate annual budgets, schedule expenditures, and begin corrective actions when budget problems occur. 

· Advise management about insurance coverage for protection against potential liabilities. 

· Understand current and proposed legislation, enforces financial regulations, and recommends new, efficient procedures to avoid legal challenges. 

· Advise management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code changes. 

· Arrange, collect, and provide information for audit inquiries and give assistance to auditors. 

· Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies. 

· Oversee the posting and maintenance of general ledger accounts, payroll transactions, accounts payable and general ledger adjustments. 

· Establish relations with banks and other financial institutions. 

· Meet with managers on a regular basis for status reports and assists with policy, procedural or regulatory interpretation and problem resolution. 

· Manage special projects of significant complexity or financial impact. 

· Monitor, review, and verify accounting records and transactions for accuracy, timeliness, and adequacy of supporting documentation. 

· Ensure compliance with internal policies and agency rules and regulations. 

· Oversee account reconciliation and production of regularly scheduled summary reports, income statements and financial statements for assigned accounting operations. 

· Prepare reports which summarize and forecast business activity and financial position based on past, present, and expected operations. Analyze reports for accuracy prior to distribution. 

· Provide financial data with explanations and interpretation as requested by. 

· Provide direction and input for the development of accounting applications, reports, forms, records, and documented procedures. 

· Examine and evaluate internal methods and procedures for adequacy of controls. 

· Hire, train, and coach subordinates.

Job Qualifications 

· Education: Bachelor's degree 

· Experience: Completion of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license with 5-7 years of related experience 

· Experience: Accounting experiencing in wholesale distribution industry
